Marbling Workshop

Nakkab is a multidisciplinary artist who has journeyed through the realms of ceramics&glass design, painting and photography. He began his artistic pursuits with studies at Mimar Sinan Fine Arts University, where he delved into the intricate world of ceramics and glass design. Subsequently, he pursued a degree in painting at Marmara University Faculty of Fine Arts, culminating in a bachelor’s diploma that solidified his commitment to visual arts. In his contemporary artistic endeavors, Nakkab predominantly utilizes the medium of photography, exploring innovative ways to capture and express the essence of the world around him. However, it is in the realm of tattooing that he has found a profound and distinctive fusion of traditional Turkish marbling techniques with the human canvas. This innovative approach, which Nakkab refers to as “sernakkab,” involves the use of ink on a liquid canvas known as “kitre.” The result is a series of tattoo artworks that seamlessly intertwine body movements with surface art, creating radical compositions that are individually tailored to each person’s muscle and bone anatomy. Nakkab’s passion for marbling extends beyond his tattooing craft. He is eager to share his knowledge and expertise with others, which has led to the creation of a captivating workshop.
